Introducing the EAT6 automatic gearbox, available as standard in the PEUGEOT 208. With a six-speed converter with the PureTech 110 S&S turbo engine, it optimises fuel consumption while heightening the sensations of driving the car. For more ease and enjoyment, quickshift technology makes frequent gear changes swift and fluid.
A reduction in internal friction, teamed with converters that lock to avoid slippage, means its yield (energy efficiency) virtually equals that of a manual gearbox. For you, this means exceptional performance and fuel efficiency.
PureTech PETROL ENGINES
Designed for drivability and performance, PEUGEOT PureTech engines combine efficiency with cutting-edge technology.
It takes the best that the market has to offer and finds the perfect balance between torque and power at low revs. This advance in technology generates a 25% saving in fuel consumption and reduces CO₂ emissions compared to a vehicle with equivalent power and torque.
Combined with the automatic EAT6 6-speed gearbox, the 110 HP (81 kW) PureTech turbo with Stop and Start technology emits CO₂ emissions of only 104 g/km, making it the benchmark for automatic petrol engines in the segment.
The PureTech e-THP turbo petrol engine is the 2015, 2016 and 2017 International Engine of the Year in the 1.0l to 1.4l category.
STOP & START TECHNOLOGY
Why waste fuel if you're waiting at a red light or in traffic?
PEUGEOT's Stop & Start system senses when you come to a halt and stops the engine – then starts it again as soon as you want to move off.
It means you use less fuel and produce up to 15% less CO₂ while driving in the city.
When the brake pedal is released, the engine is instantly restarted, with no noise or vibrations.
